The NTAG424 SUN/SDM chip enables secure unique NFC interactions through AES-128 encryption and SUN (Secure Unique NFC) messaging. Each scan generates dynamic, cryptographically verifiable data that cannot be cloned or replayed.
Cloning is prevented at the hardware level: every tag response is unique and tied to the chip's internal keys. The SDM protocol ensures only authorized interactions are valid, with built-in protections against tampering.
Within VeroPay, each NTAG424 tag is associated with a MultiversX wallet. After SUN/SDM authentication, the wallet signs a message, and the VeroPay backend verifies the response. Only if validation succeeds, the tag is allowed to perform trusted actions (top-ups, payments, check-ins) securely anchored on-chain.
NTAG424 SUN/SDM delivers bullet-proof authenticity at the NFC level, while MultiversX provides immutability at the blockchain level. Together, they form the foundation of VeroPay's Keepers security model for real-world payments and access control.
